Founded in the teachings of classical Italian and French Fencing, Iron Rose draws from the traditions formulated by Aldo Nadi, William Gaugler, and Nick Evangelista. Iron Rose Fencing strives to bridge the historical gap, examining swordplay through the ages, and embracing old and new teaching methods.

Whether you’re just trying to get in shape, connect with history, or try out a new sport, we are here to help you achieve that goal. Our instructors and students all love to study and learn more about swords, and we avidly encourage you to step out of your comfort zone to walk into this realm of martial arts!
The Foundational Weapons
First time picking up a sword? No problem! We start our curriculum with the Foil, the weapon that has been refined for centuries to train you towards the pinnacle of control! Once you have your foundation set, you can begin building into historical weapons by branching into Saber and Epee. These weapons are the basic steps that delve into the militaristic and civilian weaponry that have been on display for the last millennium up to our present day!
Historical Weapons
Want to dive a little more into history? After your foundation is set, why not go a little further back in time and pick up a Rapier? A Small Sword or Spadroon? Throw a calvary saber into the mix and make it a historical extravaganza!
Heavy Weapons
Want to test your strength and endurance? Take up the iconic Hand and a Half sword, or train with single sticks and great sticks to hone your tactics with weapons you may encounter in real life! Our instructors have a wide variety of techniques across over a dozen different weapons and are more than happy to share with their students!
